Colt starting is my foremost passion.  I love taking young uneducated colts and watching them grow into themselves as partners with confidence and willingness. If you like a gentle and easy way that the horse naturally understands and accepts then bring your loved one to me. (Due to outdoor facility and weather the schedule is based on the hours trained and not calendar days in training)
Colt Starting Packages: C.S. Bronze, C.S. Silver, C.S. Gold

C.S. Bronze: In my typical colt starting package I will put 45+ hours into the horse in 30 days. At the end of the session your colt will be able to ground tie and stand for farrier, bathing, grooming & tack process, they will have ground manners and respect for personal space, will perform un-mounted ground tasks, be able to perform under saddle (including but not limited to) standing for mounting and dismounting from both sides, carrying gear including rider, riding with other horses and alone, one-rein stops to both sides from walk, trot, and canter (as well as a traditional stop), be able to pivot on the forehand, be able to pivot on the haunches, side pass, open and close gates from either side, cross bridges, cross water, vertical flexion, lateral flexion, collection and move with impulsion, plow rein and beginning to neck rein, drag items forwards or backwards and be able throw a rope off of their back. (All of course dependant on the learning process and ability of each individual horse). *Please remember for, safety's sake, a colt is a Green Broke colt until it has a few years of experience under his/her saddle to be titled "Finished".

C.S. Silver: This session includes all of the afore mentioned in C.S. #1 but in a 60 day package (90 hours) that includes traveling in bear territory, packing in a string, trailering to an indoor arena ponying with other horses, tarp work, more trail work and some reining patterns.

C.S. Gold: The Gold program consists of a two year educational program for your horse. When finished with the program your horse will be a finished trail horse with a foundation of cattle work, cutting, roping, pack work, driving and many many hours of sweaty blankets. The Ultimate Trail Horse Program!
